Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim Helu recently sold the U.S. electronics retailer CompUSA to the private equity arm of Gordon Brothers LLC, a liquidation firm. As it closes down CompUSA, Gordon Brothers hads promised proper treatment for landlords, creditors, and consumers. What about the thousands of retail workers across the country losing their jobs?
Most are getting no severance, no continuation of benefits, no hiring preference at locations which continue under new ownership, and received just two months notice that the compay was going out of business.
