Country Deports Workers for Labor Unrest

Kuwait has deported over 100 Bengali workers for instigating labor unrest through demonstrations and protests over low wage, bad working conditions, and exploitation by employers. Over 1,000 other workers have been arrested and may be deported soon. So far, thousands of workers have been on strike since July 24. There are currently over 200,000 Bengali workers living in Kuwait.

This is obviously a tactic by the government and employers to scare the rest of the workers into submission. Workers are given the ultimatum of near starvation wages and exploitation or physically removal. For a country that proves vast amounts of welfare services to its citizens, it has no respect for the individuals who are helping to build its infrastructure and economy.
