Chalk up a (temporary) victory at the expense of public health for the New York Restaurant Association. The New York Times reports that a, "federal judge struck down a proposed city health regulation today that would have required more than 2,000 restaurants around New York — including chain restaurants like McDonald’s — to post the calorie content of their dishes on their menus."
But great news for nutrition advocates: the ruling opens the way for a revised New York law and should not disturb menu labeling initiatives elsewhere. Read more at the Center for Science in the Public Interest.
